Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) Finalist - Eric Jungbluth

February 24, 2025 – Hendricks Elementary 6th grade math teacher Eric Jungbluth has been named one of two Arizona finalists for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST)—the highest national honor for educators in STEM fields.

Mr. Jungbluth was recognized at the Arizona State Board of Education meeting, where Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Horne presented him with a certificate of achievement. The PAEMST program selects one mathematics and one science educator from each state annually to receive this prestigious award.

This recognition reflects Mr. Jungbluth’s dedication to inspiring students and fostering a love of mathematics at Hendricks Elementary. We are incredibly proud of his achievement and rooting for him as the national selection process continues!

About the PAEMST Award

Established by Congress in 1983, the PAEMST is the highest recognition K-12 mathematics and science teachers can receive in the United States. Awardees are selected by a panel of distinguished mathematicians, scientists, and educators and receive a certificate signed by the President.
