Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)

The Flowing Wells School District is committed to the academic achievement of all students. In an effort to provide additional resources and measure student academic performance, the district participates in the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). ESSA is the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) which was originally signed into law in 1965 and continues to support the fundamental goal of all students achieving mastery on the state’s high academic standards. In order to measure student, school and the district progress, ESSA requires participation in state determined academic testing and other accountability measures.

If you would like more information regarding your child’s participation in assessments, please contact your school principal or the associate superintendent in charge of curriculum.
