Flowing Wells and U of A Teaching Fellows Program

Flowing Wells School District is looking for energetic people interested in becoming a teacher in our district! Whether currently in school, recently retired, or looking for a new career, if you have a student-centered philosophy and want to inspire, motivate, and make a difference in students' lives, then this is the career for you!

Flowing Wells and the University of Arizona have partnered to create a unique opportunity to support you in reaching this goal.

Through the FW/UA Teaching Fellows Program, you will become a student in the College of Education at the University of  Arizona and work closely with the Flowing Wells School District throughout your teacher preparation program.  
Teaching Fellows are prepared in one of these degree programs:
  • Early Childhood Education
  • Elementary Education
  • Mild to Moderate Disabilities
  • Secondary Education

As a Teaching Fellow, you will:
1.  Receive financial support
2.  Work closely with and complete all fieldwork in the Flowing Wells School District with several mentor teachers
3.  Potentially be hired by the Flowing Wells District 
4.  Participate in forums designed to link coursework expectations more closely with school and district expectations

The Fellows Program can help you attain your goal of being a teacher in the Flowing Wells Unified School District and allow you to be compensated up to $4800.00 in the process! Select the option below that best describes you for more information on the application process.

Option 1
If you are a student in your 2nd or 3rd year at Pima Community College, the University of Arizona, or the University of Arizona College of Education:
  • Contact your advisor about applying to the Early Childhood, Elementary, or Special Education program at the University of Arizona in the Spring.
  • If you are eligible to apply, follow the admissions process and at the same time, complete the Flowing Wells Teaching Fellows Application.
  • Application is due February 23, 2018. Submit completed application via email to: coe-aztf@email.arizona.edu.
Option 2
If you currently hold a Bachelor's Degree:
